1. Peanut Quality
The first factor affecting the peanut oil extraction effect is the quality of peanuts, including peanut variety, peanut maturity and storage conditions.
(1) Peanut Variety
High moisture: It can cause peanuts to clump during the extraction process, reducing the contact area between the oil and the oil press, and may also lead to problems like mold during storage, affecting oil quality and extraction efficiency.
Low moisture: Peanuts become overly brittle, resulting in more powder during crushing, which can block the oil channels and reduce the oil yield. The optimal moisture content for most extraction processes is typically controlled at 8% - 12%.
(2) Peanut Maturity and Storage Conditions
Immature or mildewed peanuts have lower oil content and worse oil quality, which can lead to a decline in both extraction efficiency and product quality.
Long - term storage at high temperatures or high humidity can cause peanuts to oxidize and deteriorate, increasing the acid value of the oil and affecting the extraction effect and oil quality.

2. Peanut Pretreatment Process
The second factor affecting the peanut oil extraction effect is the peanut pretreatment process, including peanut cleaning, shelling, crushing, flaking, and cooking etc.
(1) Cleaning
Impurities (such as soil, stones, and stems) in peanuts can affect the normal operation of equipment and introduce foreign odors into the oil. Thorough cleaning is required. (2) Crushing and Flaking
Crushing: The purpose is to break the peanut kernels into small pieces to increase the surface area. Inadequate crushing results in large particle sizes and reduced oil release; overly fine crushing can cause excessive powdering, making it difficult to filter.
Flaking: Rolling the crushed peanuts into thin flakes can increase the contact area with the oil press to improve the oil expression efficiency.
(3) Cooking
Cooking can denature the protein in peanuts, reduce the binding force between the oil and the protein, and make the oil easier to separate.
Excessive temperature or prolonged cooking can cause the oil to oxidize, increase the color of the oil, and even produce harmful substances.
Insufficient cooking leads to incomplete protein denaturation, resulting in low oil yield and high residual oil in the cake. For example, the optimal cooking temperature for pressing extraction is generally 120 - 150°C, and the time is 20 - 30 minutes.

3. Peanut Oil Extraction Method and Equipment
Another critical factors affecting the peanut oil extraction effect are the peanut oil extraction method and equipment. During peanut oil processing process, the most widely used extraction methods for commercial or industrial use are mechanical pressing method and solvent extraction method. Different methods determine the oil's quality and purity, and the two processing technologies are also different in terms of oil yield. The residual oil in the cake after pressing by using the pressing technology is relatively higher, at 7-8%. Instead, using the solvent extraction technology to extract oil, the residual oil rate in the cake can be controlled at less than 1%.
Advanced extraction equipment and refined techniques can significantly boost the oil extraction rate. Poor or unstable control of water and temperature will affect the oil yield of the equipment. Several tests have also shown that the water content of pressed embryo can not be lower than the cake forming limit, and the appropriate range of pressed temperature is 110~130°C. If the water is too high, it will cause the embryo to produce clumps and affect the oil production. On the contrary, the moisture is too low, the material embryo is pressed into powder; Similarly, toohigh temperature will cause the oil color and even increase the amount of fuel loss, affecting the quality of oil; On the contrary, when the temperature is too low, good pressing conditions cannot be formed. Therefore, the oil yield can be improved by controlling the pressing water moisture and pressing temperature of the embryo.
